A well-built concrete patio is the ultimate combination of durability, flexibility, and affordability for Florida’s homeowner. As compared to a wood deck, which needs frequent maintenance, and a paver patio, which shifts and settles over time, a well-built and installed concrete patio can provide you with decades of enjoyment with minimal maintenance. With our design and installation services, the possibilities are endless when it comes to your patio. Do you want a basic rectangular patio, or do you have ideas for a larger outdoor living space with curves, borders, and decorative accents? We can make your dreams a reality while working within your budget.
Our team of professionals specializes in building custom concrete patios that complement your home’s architectural style, fit perfectly with your landscaping, and can handle the extreme weather conditions found throughout South Florida. We’ll assist you in all aspects of your project from conceptualization to completion, including final sealing of your new patio to ensure you enjoy your outdoor space for years to come.

Why Concrete is the Smart Choice for Florida Patios
Durability of Exceptional Quality: Concrete patios are able to sustain Florida’s high levels of sunlight, heavy rainfall, high humidity, and extreme temperatures, and will not warp, rot, or deteriorate as a result of such conditions. When installed correctly, the life expectancy of a concrete patio can be from 30 to 50 years, requiring virtually no maintenance.
Low-Maintenance Needs: Concrete patios have significantly fewer needs for maintenance than do wood decks (requiring an annual staining) and paver patios (requiring replacement of sand in joints, weed removal, and other tasks). Concrete patios require only occasional cleaning and periodic sealing. Enjoy your patio – you won’t spend much time on its upkeep.
Unlimited Design Possibilities: Modern concrete allows homeowners to create limitless design options, including stamped patterns, integral colors, exposed aggregate, stained finishes, scored designs, and Decorative borders. A homeowner may create a unique patio that expresses their personality.
Value – Cost Effective: Concrete patios typically are priced at a lower cost than comparable wood decks and/or natural stone installation products, yet provide superior long-term performance and lower total cost over the lifetime of the product. The combination of low upfront costs and long-lasting performance provides an excellent value.
Smooth Surface: With a single piece of concrete creating a solid surface, there are no seams or gaps between pavers, thus eliminating uneven pavers, tripping hazards, etc., making this type of surface safe, allowing for easy furniture placement and for simple cleaning.
Resistance to Weather: Concrete is well-suited to handle all types of weather extremes that exist in Florida. It does not absorb moisture, will not develop mold or mildew like wood, remains stable in hot temperatures, and will drain properly if installed with proper slope.
Create Your Perfect Outdoor Space
Standard Finishes
Broom Finish: Broom finish is the most used and functional option. This type of finish produces fine-textured lines that provide great traction on wet surfaces while providing a clean, timeless look. It’s ideal for family patios or highly trafficked areas.
Smooth Trowel Finish: A smooth trowel finish provides a sleek, modern design perfect for contemporary-style homes. Smooth finishes are best suited for covered patios or areas where there will be little to no water contact. These types of finishes offer an elegant, stylish appearance.
Exposed Aggregate: Exposed aggregate reveals the natural stone inside the concrete mixture and provides textured, slip-resistant surfaces with visual depth and personality. They can be utilized in both casual and high-end designs.
Salt Finish: Salt is pressed into freshly poured concrete and then rinsed away to produce small indentations and texture, producing a unique appearance and improved traction around pool areas.
Decorative Options
Stamped Concrete Patios: Stamped concrete allows you to take your patio and turn it into a designer showpiece by using various patterns that mimic slate, flagstone, brick, tile, or wood. You have endless options for patterns and colors, allowing you to get a custom look for a fraction of the cost of natural materials.
Stained Concrete: Using acid or water-based stain products to add rich, variegated colors to your concrete surfaces, while maintaining a translucent, natural look, staining your concrete can transform it from a plain surface into a work of art with depth and character.
Colored Concrete: Colored integral (mixed into the concrete) and colored hardener (applied after pouring) provide consistent and lasting earth tone colors in gray, terracotta, and many other colors, as well as custom colors.
Scored Patterns: Scored patterns create the illusion of tile, stone, and/or geometric designs, all without actually segmenting the surface. Scored patterns add visual interest and maintain the seamless surface benefits.

From Concept to Completion
Pre-Design Planning Meeting: At this meeting, we visit your property to go over your ideas, assess your space, check out the conditions of your site (drainage, etc.), review the possibilities of different designs and budget options, and make some initial sketches of what the space could look like.
Custom Design Refining: The initial sketches will be developed into a detailed plan, which will show the measurements, shape, how it relates to your home and yard, what drainage solution will be used, and what finish options are available for the area. We continue to revise the design until it matches exactly what you want.
Complete Proposal: Once you have reviewed and accepted the custom design, you will receive an extensive, item-by-item proposal detailing the scope of work, types of materials, finish options, timeline, and cost involved in completing your project. This proposal will also include any additional costs for permits or inspections required by local authorities. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have before beginning construction.
Site Work: Before building your patio, the existing grass and other debris must be removed. A perimeter is marked so you know where the patio will be located. Next, the area is excavated down to the required depth for the base material. Any sod or debris is removed, and any unsuitable soil is replaced. The grade is set so water drains away from the house. The sub-grade is then compacted to avoid future settlement.
Base Installation: A layer of compacted stone or gravel base material is installed. Each layer is compacted thoroughly and checked to ensure even thickness and proper drainage. The final grade is verified before placing the concrete.
Formwork and Reinforcement: The formwork establishes the exact size and shape of your patio. Steel reinforcement (rebar or wire mesh) is added to help control cracking and add structural support to the patio.
Pouring the Concrete: The quality of the concrete is critical to the success of the finished product. It is poured systematically, spread evenly to the specified thickness, consolidated to remove air pockets, and screeded to the correct elevation and slope for proper drainage.
Finishing & Details: The finishing touches are made to the patio by skilled laborers who can produce the specific textured finish you desire. Control joints are established as necessary, edges are detailed to give a clean appearance, and to ensure that the patio surface allows water to drain properly.
Decorative Treatment (If Selected): If you have chosen a decorative treatment such as stamping, staining, or colorizing your patio, the designated techniques will be applied at the correct time to achieve the desired effect and to produce a professional-looking result.
Curing and Protective Measures: To gain the ultimate strength and durability of the patio, the concrete must be cured properly. We protect the surface from excessive moisture loss, maintain proper conditions for curing, and allow sufficient curing time before allowing use.
Sealing (Optional): Following the curing process, the patio surface will be cleaned thoroughly, and our premium sealer will be applied to protect, enhance the appearance, and make maintenance easier.
Final Inspection: We will conduct a walk-through inspection of the completed patio with you to ensure your complete satisfaction, provide maintenance instructions, and answer any remaining questions regarding your new outdoor space.

Keeping Your Patio Beautiful
Weekly Maintenance: Regularly clean your patio by sweeping off debris. Once a month, use a garden hose to rinse away dirt and grime from your patio. Use mild soap and water to clean tough dirt from your patio; once a year, you can use a pressure washer on your patio, but make sure to use a low enough pressure setting so you don’t damage the patio’s surface.
Preventing Stains: When you spill food, drinks, oil, or grease on your patio, be sure to clean it immediately to help prevent stains from forming. Also, do not use strong cleaning products or acidic cleaners because they can damage your patio’s surface. To help protect your patio from rust stains caused by metal furniture legs, place a piece of furniture pad under each leg.
When to Seal: Re-seal your patio every two to three years to keep it protected and looking its best. Areas that are subject to a lot of traffic or are exposed to elements may require more frequent re-sealing. Be sure to clean your patio completely before applying the new sealer.
Protecting Furniture: Place protective pads under the feet of your outdoor furniture to help protect the patio from scratches. Do not drag heavy objects across the patio, as this will also cause scratching. When moving heavy objects, lift them instead of sliding them.
Removing Weeds: Occasionally, weeds may grow in the control joints of your patio. Remove weeds immediately, and if weeds continue to grow in the same area, consider sealing the joint to help prevent future weed growth. Concrete is much less likely to have problems with weeds than paver patios.
Preparing Your Patio for Winter: Although it is rare in Pembroke Pines to experience freezing temperatures, when you do, avoid using deicing salt on your patio and use sand for traction instead. If there is standing water on your patio before it freezes, try to remove it if you can.
Ongoing Maintenance: For long-term care of your patio, check for cracks and repair them as soon as you find them. Check your patio’s drainage regularly. Apply touch-ups to your sealer as needed in high-traffic areas. If you notice that your patio is settling or has begun to move, address the issue right away.
Regular maintenance of your patio will ensure that it remains beautiful and functional for over 30 years.
Making the Right Choice
Concrete or Wood Decks: A wood deck requires an annual stain, regular maintenance, and will ultimately be replaced. Wood is also prone to rot, termite damage, and water damage. Over time, a wood deck will cost you less money than a concrete deck in maintenance, and the concrete will last much longer than a wood deck.
Concrete or Pavers: Pavers are more expensive when initially purchased, and will require ongoing maintenance, which includes leveling pavers, replacing sand in joints, weed control, and maintaining edges. As pavers age, they will move and settle. A concrete deck does not have these issues, and once installed, it requires very little maintenance.
Concrete or Natural Stone: Natural stone has an authentic beauty, but comes at a high price point. Installation of natural stone requires professional and regular maintenance as well as careful sealing of the product. Stamped concrete can mimic the same look of natural stone, but at a 50-70 percent lower price point and with easier maintenance.
Concrete or Composite Decking: Composite decking does not rot like wood; however, composite decking is significantly more expensive than concrete decking, and can fade over time, providing a synthetic feel. Concrete decking provides a much higher level of design flexibility and superior durability compared to composite decking.
Concrete or Tile: Outdoor tile requires a perfectly prepared substrate, professional installation, and careful maintenance of the grout lines between individual tiles. Tiles can crack and need to be replaced individually. A concrete surface is more forgiving and more durable for Florida’s weather conditions.
